Quality Pre-Apprenticeship Program Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 33

An opportunity to obtain training and guaranteed employment in a high demand field with exceptional opportunities for advancement

Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 33 trains plumbers, steamfitters and HVAC/Refrigeration Specialists – creating tradespeople with exceptional career potential including great wages, health and retirement benefits, as well as the potential to grow into management and even ownership positions.

The quality Pre-Apprenticeship Program is a balance of classroom hours and paid field work with guaranteed employment upon completion.

 

Classroom Schedule
June 11, 2018 – July 11, 2018
Monday – Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
(No class on July 4 & 5)

Field Hours Schedule
Monday – Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
(hours can vary depending on placement)

Pre-Apprentices will receive scholarships to cover the cost of the program coursework.

Classes will be held at the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 33 Training Center, a state of art training facility, located at 2501 Bell Avenue.

Pre-Apprenticeship Program offers 160 classroom hours focused on:

  • Understanding expectations and ways to succeed in the construction industry
  • Safety training
  • Fundamental math skills
  • Learning the tools of the trade

Pre-Apprenticeship Program offers 320 field hours in which you will gain the following:

  • Experience working with a union contractor as an employee
  • Hourly wages between $11.75 and $15.14 depending upon placement
  • Support from apprentices and journeypersons with insight about future career opportunities
  • Exposure to a wide variety of settings including plumbing, pipefitting, and HVAC/Refrigeration

Individuals who have successfully completed the Apprenticeship program and become Journeypersons enjoy a vast array of career opportunities including:

  • General Foreman
  • Detailer/3D Modeling
  • Teaching Staff
  • Training Director
  • Business Manager
  • Business Owner
  • Maintenance Supervisor
  • Director of Operations
  • Project Manager

Compensation

Being part of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 33 is competitive!

  • Apprentice hourly wage – progressive pay scale starting at $15.14 plus benefits
  • Journeyperson hourly wage – $33.65 an hour plus benefits
  • According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the 2016 Median Pay for Plumbers, Pipefitters, and Steamfitters was $51,450 per year.
